Paint Protection
Ceramic Coating in Colorado Springs & Monument
Long-lasting protection against high-altitude UV, bug etching, mag chloride, and dirt. Choose 1, 3, or 5-year ceramic coating tiers — with optional paint correction so your paint looks better than the day it left the lot.

What is a ceramic coating?
Ceramic coating is like clear nail polish that bonds to your vehicle's paint. It forms a hard, hydrophobic layer that lasts years. Once cured, it resists UV oxidation, chemical etching from bug guts and bird droppings, and the mag chloride that CDOT sprays across Colorado roads each winter.
Unlike wax (which lasts 6–12 weeks in Colorado) or paint sealants (4–6 months), a properly applied ceramic coating typically lasts 1 to 5+ years depending on the product tier and prep work.

Ceramic coating vs. wax — the short version
Wax sits on top of your clear coat and sacrifices itself over 6–12 weeks. Ceramic coating bonds to the clear coat and lasts years. In Colorado's UV and winter, that difference is dramatic.
| Wax | Ceramic Coating | |
|---|---|---|
| Lifespan in Colorado | 6–12 weeks | 1–5+ years |
| UV resistance | Low | High |
| Mag chloride resistance | Low | High |
| Water beading | Moderate | Very high |
| Cost per year | $200–$800/yr | $150–$500/yr |

Paint correction: 1-step vs. 2-step
A ceramic coating locks in whatever condition your paint is in. If there are swirls or scratches when we coat, they're sealed in for years. That's why proper paint correction beforehand is one of the most important decisions you'll make.
Enhancement polish
1-Step Paint Correction
A single machine-polish stage using a light-to-medium compound and pad. Removes roughly 60–80% of light swirl marks, wash marring, and haze. This is the right choice for newer vehicles or paint that's in generally good condition and just needs a clarity boost before ceramic.
Best for
- Newer vehicles (0–3 years)
- Light swirl marks from automated car washes
- Preparing paint for a 1 or 3-year ceramic coating
- Best value for daily drivers
Cut & polish
2-Step Paint Correction
A two-stage process: a compounding step to level deeper defects, followed by a refining polish stage to restore clarity and gloss. Removes 85–95%+ of swirls, most scratches that don't reach primer, oxidation, and buffer holograms. This is what you want before a long-term ceramic or on any vehicle where the paint truly matters.
Best for
- Older or neglected paint
- Vehicles with visible swirls, holograms, or oxidation
- Preparing paint for a 3 or 5-year ceramic coating
- Long-term ownership

Why ceramic coating makes sense in Colorado
High-altitude UV
At 6,000+ ft, UV intensity is ~50% stronger than at sea level. Ceramic reflects and resists it for years.
Mag chloride & brine
Winter road treatments are extremely corrosive. Ceramic's chemical barrier prevents etching.
Bug season & sap
Coated paint releases bugs, tar, and pine sap under low pressure — no scrubbing swirls back in.
Front Range grit
Wind-blown sand and rock dust cause constant micro-abrasion. Ceramic hardness helps.
Frequently asked questions
How much does ceramic coating cost in Colorado Springs?
Professional ceramic coating typically ranges from $600 to $2,000+ depending on vehicle size, coating tier (1, 3, or 5 year), and the level of paint correction required. Send photos with your quote request for an exact price.
Do I need paint correction before ceramic coating?
Almost always. A ceramic coating locks in whatever condition your paint is in — including swirls and scratches. Even new vehicles often have light marring from dealer washes and transport. We recommend at minimum a 1-step polish before any coating.
How long does ceramic coating actually last?
1-year, 3-year, and 5-year tiers reflect the product manufacturer's durability rating with proper maintenance (regular washes, no automated brush washes). Colorado's UV and winter brine can shorten that if the coating isn't maintained.
Can I wash my car normally after ceramic coating?
Yes — after the initial 7-day cure period. Hand wash or touchless is best. Avoid automated brush car washes, which introduce marring that dulls the coating over time.
Do you offer mobile ceramic coating?
Ceramic coating requires a controlled, dust-free environment and 12–24 hours of cure time out of the elements. We handle coating work at our shop location while offering fully mobile detailing and maintenance services throughout Monument, Colorado Springs, and the Front Range.
